Some listed buildings of Old Russia has been luckily saved for our admiration and today Volokolamsk is a place to see with its Kremlin’s cathedrals, Pokrovskaya, Krestovozdvishenskaya, Petropavlovskaya and Chrestovozdvishenskaya churches. You may also visit extraordinary Rozhedstvo-Bogoroditskaya and Bogoslovskaya churches (XVI), lots of great manors (Razumovsky, Dolgorukie, Bezobrazovy, Ostashevo, Ostashevo, Petrovskoye-Cheredovo, Shakhovskie) and don’t forget to go to the famous Joseph-Volotsky abbey which was founded in XV.
